Back to School Series

Over the past several months, RFA and its Philadelphia-based research/practice initiative, the Philadelphia Education Research Consortium (PERC), have produced a series of reports that focus on perennial challenges to our schools and districts—chronic absenteeism, transportation, the teaching workforce, and keeping students on track for graduation.

While we prepared these reports to be released under “normal” circumstances, the emergence of Covid-19 has dramatically shifted how we think about the re-opening of schools.

But even in the midst of this unprecedented uncertainty and chaos, timely, relevant research still has the capacity to inform how education leaders and the public navigate these waters and remain focused on the essential functions of schools—teaching and learning—while keeping students and school staff safe and healthy.

RFA will release a report each Monday in August as a lead up to back to school in September.
