RFA is serving as the evaluator for the Academy of Natural Sciences (ANS) Women in Natural Sciences (WINS) project. Since its inception in 1982, WINS has introduced more than 770 Philadelphia girls to careers in science and related professions by providing hands-on science opportunities, career and college exploration, and positive youth development activities. This success and longevity compel ANS to carefully examine WINS to determine which program elements are key to its success, which need refining or updating; and which might be eliminated. The purpose is to ensure the program is most effectively reaching as many girls as possible. RFA’s evaluation examines overall program goals, strengths, and needs.
