Evaluation of Montgomery County’s BJA STOP School Violence Program

Began in January 2022

We are conducting a mixed-methods evaluation of social-emotional curricula across several Montgomery County school districts. The evaluation primarily focuses on curricular programs designed and implemented to support the development of students’ social-emotional competencies. In addition, the evaluation involves analysis of a social-emotional program for teachers, designed to support them in coping with first-hand and secondary-trauma (e.g., school violence-related, COVID-related).

RFA will use survey data to produce county- and district-level reports that demonstrate the contribution of Montgomery County’s programming to the social-emotional competencies of K-8 students and teachers. RFA will also produce findings from qualitative data collection that lend themselves to ensuring the implementation of SEL programming across the county is continuously improving.
