For the past two years, RFA researchers worked with student members of Youth United for Change (YUC) and Philadelphia Student Union (PSU) on developing their social science research skills as they conducted studies of their changing schools. Their motivation to be youth researchers stemmed from their commitment to making their high schools better places for all students. This work has culminated in three compelling student-written products intended to support their organizing campaigns for small schools at Olney, Kensington, and West Philadelphia High Schools. The reports titled, Writing to be Heard, show the powerful contributions students can make to their high school communities and beyond.
