Examining Cross-Sector Collaboration in Pittsburgh: A Mixed-Delivery System for Pre-K Education

Research for Action is working with diverse stakeholders in Pittsburgh, PA to explore current successes and challenges related to the implementation of the city’s mixed-delivery system for early childhood education programs through ongoing partnership between Pittsburgh Public Schools and private, community-based early childhood providers.  The resulting policy brief will be designed to help inform policy decisions as a new Early Education Task Force works to create an Implementation Plan that leverages existing partnerships and new resources to serve more children in public pre-K programs. It could also prove to be a valuable resource for other districts interested in adopting or improving mixed-delivery models.
