The Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program: Effects on Traditional and Incarcerated Students

Dates: 2015 - 2016

RFA is conducting a preliminary evaluation of the Inside-Out Prison Exchange program, housed at Temple University. For over a decade, Inside-Out has been training university faculty to teach courses within adult correctional facilities across the United States, and internationally. The evaluation includes the development and administration of a survey to assess how participation in Inside-Out courses affect both traditional undergraduates and students incarcerated in adult correctional facilities along the following domains: Self-awareness and Critical Thinking; Challenging Stereotypes; Connection to Community and Society; and Awareness of Institutional Structures of Power, Privilege and Identity.
