Dan Kent joined RFA as a Research Analyst in 2018 and was promoted to Senior Policy Analyst in 2020. Most passionate about the intersection of immigration, equitable workforce development, and economic mobility, Dan works with the quantitative research team to support RFA’s postsecondary policy projects. Some of these projects include a 50 state scan of policies affecting undocumented students, and an evaluation of state fiscal responses to the economic downturn.

Prior to RFA, Dan’s research in graduate school was noted by media including the New York Times and The Tennessean, and was published in the American Educational Research Journal. Since coming to RFA, he has produced numerous actionable reports and deliverables for clients and the public, and appeared in news outlets including Inside Higher Ed, The Hechinger Report, and University World News.

He is also on the volunteer scholarship committee for TheDream.US and Point Foundation and reads applications for QuestBridge. Dan has a B.A. from the College of William & Mary with a double major in Music and Finance, and an M.S.Ed. in Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania with a focus on public policy.
