Myci Atkinson joined RFA as a Graduate Intern in 2020, supporting multiple projects. As a Research Fellow, she continues her work on a mixed-methods evaluation of the Dallas County Promise Program, a coalition of school districts, postsecondary institutions, employers and communities working together to help more Dallas County students complete college and begin careers. In addition, Myci performs policy research for a partnership with the Presidents’ Alliance, conducting a 50-state policy scan for a new digital portal that integrates data, policies, and resources about DACA and undocumented students to fuel change at the federal, state and campus level, and build a diverse movement of partners and stakeholders advocating for undocumented students who are in the postsecondary landscape.
Prior to joining RFA, Myci was a research analyst and writer for the Virginia Department of Health and a 3rd grade teacher in the Teach For America Greater New Orleans corps. Myci is currently an Urban Education Policy graduate student at Brown University, where she assists on community democracy research.
