About Shafiqua Little
Dr. Shafiqua Little is a Policy Associate on the postsecondary team. Her current projects focus on identifying and evaluating models that improve educational and career outcomes for BIPOC communities.
Little contributes to a range of culturally responsive and equity focused research and evaluation studies examining students transition from high school to college, state-level strategies for erasing racial equity gaps in postsecondary attainment, and approaches to reengage adult learners in higher education.
Little has extensive experience working with education stakeholders in K-16 education as an educator, researcher, and data analyst. Little leverages this experience in support of her projects at RFA, including evaluating the Lumina Foundation’s Talent, Innovation and Equity Initiative and studying state mechanisms for reskilling displaced workers.
Little has conducted extensive research on school discipline and urban charter schools in Georgia. Much of her research focuses on the interaction of race and class in education policy and practice, and she is broadly committed to improving the lives of students, particularly students of color and low-income students, through comprehensive and equitable policies and practices.
