About Carmina Hachenburg

Carmina Hachenburg is a Research Assistant at RFA. She currently serves on the team defining Philadelphia Youth Network’s high-quality virtual and hybrid summer programming. She also works on the Wallace- OSTi team, studying the role of out-of-school-time (OST) coordinating entities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hachenburg has extensive experience working in the philanthropic sector and journalism field, leveraging her experiences as researcher, news reporter, opinion writer, and copy editor in support of her projects at RFA. Much of her research focuses on the educational experience of Latinx students in the United States’ urban public schools. She is broadly interested in exploring the impact of culturally relevant pedagogy in school curricula. Hachenburg is committed to working toward the implementation of equitable, diverse, and culturally responsive educational and academic spaces for students through effective research.
