Suzanne (Sukey) Blanc, Senior Research Associate, is an urban anthropologist who studies mathematics and science education through the lens of educational equity. Blanc is also interested in the relationships between school reform and other aspects of urban life, such as affordable housing. She is the co-author of the report From the Ground Up: The Logan Square Neighborhood Association’s Approach to Building Community Capacity. Blanc received the American Anthropological Associations’ Ethnographic Evaluation Award. Blanc is also a parent of two Philadelphia public school graduates and a frequent contributor to the Philadelphia Public School Notebook.
