Suzanne (Sukey) Blanc, Senior Research Associate, an urban anthropologist, looks at mathematics and science education using the lens of educational equity. She is the team leader for many RFA evaluation and research projects in this area of interest. In addition, Blanc is a parent of two Philadelphia public school graduates, is a frequent contributor to the Philadelphia Public School Notebook, and studies the relationships between school reform and other aspects of urban life, such as affordable housing. She is the co-author of the report From the Ground Up: The Logan Square Neighborhood Association’s Approach to Building Community Capacity. Blanc received the American Anthropological Associations’ Ethnographic Evaluation Award. She was a Research Director of the Learning from Philadelphia’s School Reform project.
