Roseann Hugh entered the educational landscape motivated by a desire to provide quality learning opportunities to urban children and youth. Working towards this goal she has experience teaching in a New York City charter school and public school, as well as working in a policy setting. While at the New York State Education Department she crafted a policy brief entitled The Path to Charter Renewal. From her experience in schools, she recognized the important role that families and communities play in children’s formal and informal learning. Her interests are in urban education, social theory, immigration, and citizenship.
