Shani Adia Evans is particularly interested in urban high schools, school choice policy, and community participation in school improvement. Evans completed a master’s degree in education policy at the University of Pennsylvania. Her master’s thesis considered the accessibility of high school choice options to children and families. Prior to coming to RFA, she worked in a variety of educational settings including youth development and after-school programs. She also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Gabon, Central Africa from 2003 to 2005.
