Independent. Research-based. Non-partisan. Balanced.

For 20 years, Research for Action has existed as an independent research organization. We are free of influence from special interest groups or funders. We are committed to the principle that our work should only communicate what the research says, not what outside groups or special interests want us to say.

We are working through a critical time for education policy in the commonwealth, and Pennsylvania’s decision-makers are engaging in important discussions that can benefit from objective, rigorous, non-partisan research. We recently launched our newest initiative – the Pennsylvania Clearinghouse for Education Research – with an issue brief on teacher effectiveness. Given our 20-year history as an independent, non-affiliated research organization, RFA is well-suited to contribute meaningful, research-based, nonpartisan findings to the most pressing education discussions. By incorporating RFA’s respected and independent voice to the growing chorus of debate in Harrisburg, we hope to build a solid, research-based foundation to undergird emerging reform plans.
