| Description: |
RU-STEPed Up for Success, funded by the National Science Foundation, seeks to increase the student retention rate in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) majors. It offers a series of programs targeting Rutgers University’s most vulnerable populations: transfer students, women, and first-year students with placement in basic skills level mathematics and writing. RU-STEPed Up for Success builds on existing Rutgers programs to strengthen critical points in the recruitment and retention of a diverse population of STEM students. Research for Action is the outside evaluator for Rutgers University’s RU-STEPed Up for Success program, and will conduct a 5-year evaluation of the program, providing formative feedback as well as analysis of student outcomes data to explore the impact of the program on recruiting and retaining STEM majors. |
